Full Spectrum CBD Oil from Colorado
Unlike other CBD oils that are extracted from stems, stalks, leaves and flowers, Ned’s CBD products include only hemp flowers, which produce hundreds of therapeutic phytochemicals. These include cannabinoids such as cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), terpenes such as linalool and humulene, flavonoids, and many others.
Because many of these phytochemicals are very volatile, Ned uses a cold (-40°F) and gentle extraction method to retain maximum phytochemical content. All products are third-party lab tested for purity and potency. From seed to bottle, Ned keeps tabs on every part of the production process to assure all products are of the finest quality and purity.
Whether you are suffering from pain, anxiety, trouble sleeping, hormonal imbalance or want to fully optimize your wellness routine, Ned can help you feel and look your best.
What is full spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum CBD is another word for full spectrum hemp oil. Full spectrum oils are whole plant extracts. This means that in addition to cannabidiol (CBD), they contain a complete profile of active hemp phytochemicals such as various terpenes, cannabinoids, flavonoids and others.
Full spectrum is the best type of CBD rich hemp oil due to the diversity of therapeutic phytochemicals it contains. Each of these compounds have unique properties, but when they are consumed together, they enhance each other’s desired benefits. Scientists refer to this as the entourage effect.
The entourage effect is one reason why full-spectrum CBD products are more powerful and desirable than CBD oils which do not contain a complete profile of active hemp flower compounds.
True full spectrum hemp oils like Ned’s are rare because some phytochemicals such as terpenes and flavonoids are much more volatile and thus more difficult to extract than cannabinoids. Ned uses a cold gentle method that preserves the maximum amount of volatile compounds in the final product.
Studies show that CBD and other phytochemicals in full spectrum hemp oil can affect processes related to inflammation, pain, anxiety, healing, immunity, new brain cell formation, and a range of other biological functions. Hemp phytochemicals interact with many molecular targets in the body to produce benefits.
Patients report using CBD hemp oil for pain relief across various models of chronic pain. Research has shown that CBD as well as other phytochemicals in full spectrum hemp oil can positively affect certain, but not all types of chronic pain.
CBD affects both inflammatory and neuropathic pain. Experiments show that compared to the anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical Ibuprofen, cannabinoids such as CBD and THC are up to twenty times more potent at reducing inflammation.
Research also shows that a combination of cannabinoids and opioids is stronger than opioids alone, suggests that supplementing with cannabinoids may help chronic pain patients reduce opioid dosage.
One way in which CBD products may dampen pain is by inhibiting the release of inflammatory agents like glutamate. These effects are behind CBD’s ability to diminish the burning, prickling and tingling sensations often associated with neuropathic or nerve related pain as well as pain related to inflammation.
Transdermal application, or rubbing a hemp body butter directly onto your skin is an alternative to oral consumption capable of targeting specific pain points.
In higher doses, CBD exhibits sedative properties. Evidence from both animal and human studies supports a broad range of anxiolytic or anxiety reducing effects related to CBD. Neuroimaging research shows that CBD’s calming effects change the activity of brain regions which normally mediate anxiety.
Evidence suggests the therapeutic potential of cannabinoids in promoting more restful sleep and reducing insomnia. Although CBD has been found to work as a stimulant in low doses, in higher doses it leads to sedation. These sedative properties are what led scientists to look into its effects on sleep disorders.
An early study by Carlini and Cunha showed that 160 mg/day of CBD resulted in increased total sleep time and less waking up throughout the night. This study found that CBD produced no ‘hangover’ effects, but did decrease dream recall, which depending on the types of dreams you’re having, may not be a bad thing.
A 2004 study supported these findings showing that higher doses of CBD were associated with sleep improvements. More recent studies have also found similar results and you can read about them here.
Cannabinoids are increasingly being recognized for their roles in neural development. In recent years a large body of work has shown that cannabinoids play clear modulatory roles in adult neurogenesis or the formation of new brain cells.
One study published in 2011 by Esposito et al. found that CBD reduced Alzheimer’s induced neuroinflammation and promoted hippocampal neurogenesis in rats. Another study by Wolf et al. showed that CBD did not impair learning and increased neurogenesis in female rats.
A 2016 study by Schiavon et al. looked at the influence of single and repeated cannabidiol administration on emotional behavior and markers of cell proliferation and neurogenesis in non-stressed mice. The authors posed that the therapeutic effects of antidepressants and atypical antipsychotics may arise in part from their ability to trigger neurogenesis.
Full spectrum CBD vs. CBD isolate?
Similarly to how whole foods have greater effects than lone vitamins, research suggests that the combination of phytocannabinoids and non-cannabinoids found in full spectrum extracts may have greater therapeutic potential than CBD in isolated form which contains 99% pure cannabidiol.
Due to the interactions and chains of reactions that compounds such as cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, chlorophyll, sugars, fiber, vitamins, fats, and other molecules have when they are consumed together, they are more beneficial and better able to be absorbed by the body in whole plant form.
In fact, studies suggest that the unique effects of different cannabis strains may be due to the ways in which combinations of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other phenolics interact with the body and with each other.
What is inside of Ned’s CBD products?
Hemp plants produce more than 540 phytochemicals. 66 of these including CBD and THC are known as phytocannabinoids. Other major bioactive compounds identified in hemp flowers are terpenes, flavonoids and other groups of phenolic compounds.
Phytocannabinoids are plant based cannabinoids that mimic or complement the actions of our body’s endocannabinoids (i.e. cannabinoids produced by the body) and interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
The main actives responsible for hemp’s rise to fame, CBD, THC, CBC and over 120 other phytocannabinoids have been identified in hemp flowers. Their variations produce differing effects on our bodies.
Ned’s full spectrum hemp oil and hormone balance blend oil contain the cannabinoids cannabidiol (CBD), cannabichromene (CBC), cannabigerol (CBG), and cannabidivarin (CBDV).
Terpenes are aromatic hydrocarbons found in plants and animals. Over 200 terpenes have been identified in the cannabis plant. Different combinations of terpenes are behind the unique scents and flavors we associate with different cannabis strains.
Like cannabinoids, terpenes are made in the hemp flower’s glandular trichomes and their effect profile can change in the presence of other compounds. Studies show that terpenes, by way of the entourage effect, can enhance each other’s desirable effects with respect to pain, inflammation, depression, anxiety, and other functions.
Ned’s full spectrum hemp oil contains the terpenes Caryophyllene, Humulene, Linalool, Myrcene, and Guaiol.
Ned’s hormone balance blend oil contains Caryophyllene, Humulene, and Eucalyptol.
Other phenolics compounds
Phenolics are aromatic phytochemicals found in most plant tissues including those of herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Linked to various health-protective events, phenolics contribute to the color, flavor, and astringency of plants while acting to protect them from harm.
Like CBD, phenolic compounds share an ability to act as antioxidants in combatting free radicals. Many phenolic compounds also affect inflammatory and pain processes as well as possess antimicrobial and antibacterial activities against certain pathogens.
Flavonoids, the same phenolics that give dark chocolate superfood status, are the single most important group of phenolic compounds found in food and they are also the main phenolics found in full spectrum hemp oil. Studies have associated regular consumption of dietary flavonoids with the decreased risk of a number of chronic conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative disorders.
How full spectrum CBD works
Phytocannabinoids and non-cannabinoid compounds found in full spectrum hemp oil interact with many molecular targets in our bodies to trigger changes. The diversity of these compounds and their targets are behind full spectrum hemp oil’s ability to exert such a wide variety of positive effects.
CBD alone has at least 76 different molecular targets through which it works. Some are part of our body’s internal cannabinoid network known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS), while others such as PPARγ and TRPV1 belong to pathways modulating sleep, stress, mood, inflammation, pain, growth and other functions.
The ECS is a top-level cellular communication network involvement in everything from virus response to helping you fall and stay asleep at night. CBD exerts many therapeutic activities via this system. Its major action on the ECS appears to be reducing the breakdown of the bliss molecule anandamide.
Like other phenolic compounds in full spectrum hemp oil, CBD is also able to act as an antioxidant. Its molecular structure contains an unpaired electron which can be used to neutralize free radicals and prevent oxidative damage.

Organic hemp flower extracts from Colorado
As you may have guessed, not all hemp oils are created equal. Ned’s single-source CBD products all begin as carefully cultivated and organically grown hemp plants on a sunny Colorado farm that follows biodynamic principles and practices. Biodynamic farming is a slower, gentler way of working in tune with the land.
Biodynamic farming follows over 40 years of research into the effects of the moon, stars, and planets on plant growth. Biodynamic farming takes an organism view of the farm, using only hyper local solutions like the delicate balance between earthworms who work the soil and the robins who eat them to maintain balance.
Whereas conventional farming degrades the quality of our land and water over time by employing toxic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and profit-based planting calendars, biodynamic farming focuses on continuous improvement of the farm ecosystem. Going one step further than organic by employing resources from within the farm and planting in tune with cosmic rhythms according to a time-tested calendar that focuses on earth’s natural processes over farm-profit schedules, biodynamic farming has a rich tradition founded in preserving and improving the earth we need to feed us.
These planting methods result in quality and purity unlike any other. We know because we test every batch that comes off the farm. You can find our latest batch certificates here.
Hemp is a cleansing crop that can absorb contaminants and heavy metals from the soil. It has been used to help decontaminate areas such as Chernobyl. Because of this, it is important to know how and where the hemp that went into the CBD products you’re consuming was grown.
Farms with poor air and soil quality will produce a product whose quality resembles its toxic environment. In contrast, a thriving biodynamic farm with clean Colorado water will yield a nutritious crop.

How does CBD Oil work?
Cannabinoids are naturally produced in our bodies. They act on the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which regulates homeostasis and a host of other benefits. Supplementing with CBD, a plant-based cannabinoid, may have a beneficial impact on this system.
Why is Full-Spectrum Better?
Full-Spectrum CBD is made using a broader extraction process that contains more of the cannabis plant than just CBD alone. Full-spectrum CBD will contain terpenes, cannabinoids, flavonoids and fatty acids found in hemp, all of which have therapeutic value of their own and help create what’s know as the “Entourage Effect”.
What is the Entourage Effect?
The Entourage Effect is the synergistic interaction of the cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes, and fatty acids naturally found in full-spectrum CBD extract. The Entourage Effect refers to the beneficial effect of all these compounds working synergistically together as opposed to just one or two of these compounds working in isolation.
Our CBD oil is flavored using natural peppermint flavoring with a hint of sweetness from stevia. This combination perfectly hides the potent “hemp” aroma of a quality full-spectrum product.
Potency and Why it Matters
Depending on your reason for using CBD, you may require a higher dose. While most of our customers start out with our 500mg tincture, they are usually impressed with the results and would like to try a higher milligram per serving. For this reason, we have made 4 different strengths to cater to your needs.
|Product||Servings per Bottle||CBD per Serving|
|1,500 mg||60||25 mg|
|3,000 mg||60||50 mg|
|5,280 mg||60||88 mg|
Why 2oz Tinctures and Not 1oz?
Colorado Labs CBD Oil tinctures may stand out from other products on the market because we use a 2oz tincture, while the plurality of the market uses 1oz. We do this is for two important reasons:
First, by doubling the tincture size, we double the servings, allowing the user to does their serving more accurately. There may only be 30 servings in a 1oz tincture which give more room for error when consuming. If you are looking for 50mg per serving from our 1,500mg tincture, the solution is easy- take two servings!
Secondly, 2oz allows us to better dilute the hemp extract more with MCT oil providing a much better taste at no additional cost.
Colorado Labs CBD Oil is compliant with the Agricultural Act of 2014 and 2018, also known as the2014 Farm Bill and the2018 Farm Bill.
